The Great Blue Hole is located on the coast of Belize, in the American country. It is one of the largest sea-borne holes. The hole is located on Berea's Beef Reserve System, about 3 miles from Belize City. It is considered to be the largest hole in the world. Its shape is almost circular, with a radius of 5 m (3 ft) and a depth of 120 m (3 ft).
It is believed that for the last time over 4,000 years ago, when ice ruled the earth, all the water in the earth was frozen in polar regions.

তখনকার বেলিজ- এর সমুদ্র পৃষ্ট ছিল এখনকার চেয়েও আরো প্রায় ১৫০ মিটার নিচুতে। তককনকার ক্যালসিয়াম কার্বনেট জাতীয় পদার্থ জৃে তৈরি হয় পাথর। সেই পাথর দিয়ে সৃষ্টি হয় গুহার মত বিশাল কাঠামো। কিন্তু বরফ আবার যখন গলতে শুরু করে, সাগরের পানির উচ্চতাও বাড়তে শুরু করলো। পানির নিচে ডুবে যায় সেই কাঠামো।
মোটামুটি আজ থেকে ১০ হাজার বছর আগে কেভ নেটওয়ার্কই এককেবারে পানির নিচে ডুবে যায়। আার তখনই কয়েক জায়গার পাথর গুলো ভেঙ্গে সৃষ্টি হয় এই ব্লু হোল গুলো।
